This Privacy Policy explains how Rafiki Innovation Limited ("Rafiki", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Smart Rafiki website and services.
How we use your information for financing
When you apply for financing with Smart Rafiki, we ask you for the information in the table below. We collect this information to assess and manage your financing. Nothing is collected until you have agreed on the screen that asks you.

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Credit bureau check
To decide whether we can offer you credit, Rafiki and our lending partner will request your credit report from a licensed credit reference bureau in Tanzania (such as Creditinfo or Dun & Bradstreet), using your name and national ID number.
While you have credit with us, we will also report how you repay to the bureaux, as the Bank of Tanzania requires. Late or missed payments can affect your ability to borrow elsewhere.
You can get one free copy of your bureau report each year from the bureau, and ask it to correct anything wrong.
We do not check your credit report until you have agreed to it on the screen that asks you.
Your rights
You may:
- ask for a copy of your information;
- ask for it to be corrected;
- withdraw your consent.
Withdrawing your consent does not end an agreement you have already signed.

Who we are
Rafiki Innovation Limited is registered and follows the PDPA regulations.
Where this section and another part of this policy say different things about information collected for financing, this section applies.
Notice version 2026-10-16.1, in effect from 16 October 2026. This is the version named on the screen where you agree, and it is recorded with your agreement. If this notice changes, we ask you to agree again.
